Originating in Scandinavia, Gnomes later migrated to the lowlands some 1500 years ago. This is where their human troubles began. Gnomes are a very widespread species, known to many a continent, country and Cracker Barrel Restaurant alike. Europeans name them Gnomatics, except in the Alpine areas, where they are called Hans. In Brittany they are called "little fellows", sparking small Gnome revolts in the past.. The Polish call them by the familar Gnome (it was easier that way).
